The Heart of Hojai: A Poem Honoring Chamunda Mata's Magic

My poem displays how strongly the people in the village respect Chamunda Mata. It takes its rustic style from the people who live in beautiful Nabhanga village which is located in Hojai. I hope you all enjoy it.

I’m from Nabhanga gaon,
Where the wheel of gold gives us its golden light.
But despite its bright glow,
Our hearts don’t always feel right.
No peace, no joy, no rest we see,
Life feels heavy, like a darkened tree.

But there’s hope on the hill so high,
Where my mother’s temple touches the sky.
Our loving Maa, Chamunda Maa,
She listens to us, near or far.
Come to her, bow your head low,
Peace and blessings, she’ll surely bestow.

But hear me, brothers, hear me well,
Happiness won’t come if bad deeds dwell.
Leave wrong paths, keep your heart clean,
And only then will peace be seen.
The road is hard, but don’t stop, don’t run,
Come to my maa, again and again.
